Worm Is Green _ Push Play Remixes _ MKX008 _ 12inch

Worm is Green was originally founded as bedroom elektronika project by Arni Teitur Asgeirsson. Meanwhile, it has become a band of five featuring Bjarni Thor Hannesson (samplerand synthesizer), Thorsteinn Hannesson (drums), Vilberg Hafsteinn Jonsson (bass) und Gudridur Ringsted (vocals). Their debut album “Automagic” was released on Thule in 2003 and published once more on the US label Arena Rock in 2004. As a little appetizer for their "Push Play" album and a comprehensive remix anthology to be out soon, Mikrolux previously releases an EP featuring remixes of selected album tracks by Icelandic producer friends: DJ und producer Jon Frímannsson aka Jonfri turns "This Time" into modern house between reduction, spherical emotion and driving funk. Arnvidur Snorrason aka Exos (known from releases on Force Inc. and Thule) pushes forward the tender dub spheres of "Synthia" by using mightily rolling offbeat breaks. By his version of "Electron John” included on the flipside of the EP, Birgir Sigurdsson aka Bix presents an inspiring synthesis of DFA´s Punk Funk and wavy Elektro references. Finally, the Hermingervill version of "Army Of Them" leads over from cinematic Easy Listening to powerful Trance Rock, thus finishing the EP perfectly.
